“I am large, I contain multitudes.”
- Walt Whitman (from Song of Myself)
Welcome,
Every individual contains an interior world every bit as vast and complex as the outer world, and it is our life’s journey to explore our inner and outer worlds, to try to make sense of them and thus make sense of ourselves. We are also gifted from birth with curiosity and an intelligence that can acts like a guidance system leading us towards our highest potential. This intelligence has been called many things: Soul, Source, Self, Consciousness, Psyche, Higher Power, Inner Guide, or Inner Healer. Regardless of what we choose to call it, this guidance system helps us to integrate all of our experiences and become a whole person in what Jung called the process of Individuation. To quote Socrates: “to know thyself is the beginning of wisdom.”
However, some of life’s experiences, especially those that are challenging or painful, may cause us to withdraw, disengage, or become disconnected from our path. We may even lose our way. During such times it can be of tremendous benefit to seek out the help of a guide to bring you back into alignment with yourself.
My calling is to serve in that role: to hear your story, to witness your joys and pain, and to help you re-connect with your own source of wisdom so you can get back on the journey of life.
But it’s up to you to take that first step.
- Allen B. Howell, M.Ed.
